The Library has paid for subscriptions to a large number of E-Resources (including EBSCO databases, Proquest, Knowledge Ontario and many more). When you connect to E-Resources within the Library, from on campus, or from residence, you are automatically recognized as a Canadore College student, faculty or staff member. When you're off campus, you will need to follow a few steps to access these subscription resources.
Where do I start?
You must access these databases through the Library's E-Resources page. When you click on the E-Resource of your choice, you will see the Off Campus login screen. If, for example, you're off campus and you arrive at a subscription resource from a Google search, you will not be recognized as a Canadore College student, faculty or staff member.
Am I eligible to use the Off Campus login service?
Yes, if you are a current Canadore student, faculty, or staff member, and you have a Library account. Canadore College Alumni are not eligible to use E-Resources from off campus, but can use E-Resources within the Education Centre Library.
What is my username and password?
Username:This is the number on your Canadore photo ID/Library card.
Password: This is your Date of Birth in the following format: MMDDYY (student default) or your Library account PIN number.
Staff and Faculty:
Username: This is the number on your Canadore photo ID/Library card.
Password: This is your Library account PIN number. It is usually a random system generated 4 digit number unless you have changed it through your Library account.
****Please note that if you change your Library account PIN number through the Library catalogue, there can be a delay of up to one week before it is changed in the Canadore Off Campus login service.
