Project MUSE is a full-text database providing access to peer-reviewed journals in cultural studies, history, politics, music, theatre, film, and literary criticism.

Scholars Portal Journals (Scholars Portal) is a multi-disciplinary database with millions of articles drawn from journals covering every academic discipline. Previously known as E-Journals @ Nipissing University (Scholars Portal).

Oxford English Dictionary is a historical dictionary that covers the development of the English language. It includes detailed entries for words from 1150 CE to the present.

Oxford Reference Online Premium is a comprehensive collection of subject dictionaries and encyclopedias covering a variety of fields from the Oxford University Press. It also includes English and bilingual dictionaries.

Johns Hopkins Guide to Literary Theory and Criticism  includes alphabetically arranged entries on critics and theorists, critical schools and movements, and the critically and theoretical innovations of specific countries and historical periods. 

Literature Resource Centre provides biographical, bibliographical, and critical analyses of authors and their works.

Novelist (Ebscohost) provides access to summaries, reviews, author information, discussion guides, and recommendation lists for fiction titles.

Book Review Digest (Ebscohost) provides review excerpts and book summaries from 1983 to present for current English-language fiction and non-fiction books for all ages.

Novelist K - 8 (Ebscohost) includes summaries, reviews, author information, discussion guides, and recommendation lists for young fiction readers.

Iter indexes journals, essays, books and reviews covering the Renaissance and Medieval periods in Europe (400 to 1700 AD). This database contains citations and selected full-text access.

JSTOR   is an archival database of full-text journals covering a wide variety of fields within the Arts, Science, and Business. Typically it does not include volumes published in the last 3 to 5 years.

John Milton a Bibliography (Iter) features manuscripts and editions of Milton’s work and related studies, criticism, allusions and quotations from the years 1624-1977.

Victorian Database Online provides access to records listing books, articles, and dissertation abstracts on nineteenth-century British studies published from 1945 to the present.

Arts & Humanities Citation Index (Thomson) is a multidisciplinary database for thousands of arts and humanities journals. The citation index tool can be used to track bibliographic references and to identify related sources. Part of the Web of Knowledge.

CPI.Q Canadian Periodicals (Knowledge Ontario) provides access to Canadian and international journals, magazines, selected sections of the Globe and Mail, and biographies, all with a Canadian focus.

Communication & Mass Media Complete (EbscoHost) covers topics related to broadcasting, journalism, and communication theory.

Academic Search Premier (EbscoHost) consists of a wide range of articles related to the social sciences, general sciences, humanities and education. It contains journals, magazines, newspapers, and more.
