If you can't export records to RefWorks from the library's E-Resources, you might need to change your pop-up blocker settings in three places.
- In your Toolbars
If you have a Google or Yahoo toolbar installed on your browser:
Google Toolbar
- Open Toolbar Options
- Clear the checkbox next to pop-up blocker in the Accessories section
Yahoo Toolbar
- Click the Pop-Up Blocker menu. [It's the pencil]
- Select Enable Pop-Up Blocker.
- If the checkmark was present, Pop-Up Blocker is now off. If the checkmark was not present, Pop-Up blocker is now enabled.
- In your Browser
If changing the settings has not resolved the problem, you will need to change your browser options.
Firefox v. 7.0 xxxx
- Go to Tools -> Options...
- Click the Content tab
- If you have the popup blocker enabled, you will see Block pop-up windows selected.
- Add RefWorks to your trusted sites by clicking on the Exceptions... button and adding the following URLs:
- refworks.scholarportal.info
- www.refworks.com
- *.roxy.eclibrary.ca
- *.proxy.eclibrary.ca
Internet Explorer v. 9.0 xxxx*
- Go to Tools -> Internet Options
- Click on the Privacy tab
- If you have the popup blocker enabled, under the Pop-up Blocker menu, you will see Turn on Pop-up Blocker selected.
- Add RefWorks to your trusted sites by clicking the Settings button, and Add the following addresses:
- refworks.scholarportal.info
- www.refworks.com
- *.roxy.eclibrary.ca
- *.proxy.eclibrary.ca
- In your Firewall
You may have a pop-up blocker enabled on your firewall. There are many firewalls available.
Symantec Client Firewall v. 7.1.2.1021*
- Click Ad Blocking
- Click Configure in the right-hand pane
- Make sure Turn on Popup Window Blocking is unchecked
This should resolve any issues with direct export. If you're still experiencing difficulties, please Ask us or submit a Help Request .
