There is a known problem that Write-N-Cite doesn't work with Word 2007.  The workaround  is to "save the file in a earlier format".
Refworks can handle Word 2007 docx files.  So, in addition to the workaround above, users can insert citations into their papers using WNC and then format them in RefWorks.
